Here is the catalog of Simplex in 1978.
Simplex is familiar to those who began cycling tour around 1960s.
JUY RECORD60 which was the highest grade slide shaft type rear derailleur in the 1950s had won victory regularly at the several races such as Tour de France.
However, as for so-called pantograph type derailleur, Simplex couldn't compete with Campagnolo and Huret.
JUY EXPORT 61 which was announced in 1962 was the first model.
Later Simplex had announced PRESTIGE which was made of Delrin.
Since then, derailleur which was made of Delrin became main product.
PRESTIGE and SUPER COMPETITION must have been familiar to cyclists who belonged to my generation.
Because of the double tension, those models had a big capacity, were easy-to-use for randonneur bicycle which had wide gear ratio.
Moreover, when we put the bicycle into the Rinko bag, and hanged the chain on the chain hook, the rear derailleur turned to upside automatically because of spring.
Therefore we could decrease the breakage accident of rear derailleur during Rinko trip.
However, it must have been hard to endure the stage-race because of Delrin material.
Therefore aluminum model SUPER LJ right after announcement was used for the Peugeot bicycle of Bernard Thevenet who had won victory at the Tour de France in 1975.
And then, the product which combined Delrin and the aluminum also comes to be released one after another.
However, Simplix could not compete with big three brothers such as Campagnolo, Shimano, and Suntour, because of the difference of products function and the new conception "Group-set".
Simplex had lost the market share gradually along with Huret.
This catalog was A4 size in the folding condition.
I spread it for copy. Moreover, I also prepared large photos.
I'm very sorry that the quality of the image was not good, because I copied the copy of the original.
The catalog was offered by Mr. K. H
