The Catalog of Reminiscence

The Invitation for Cycling by Mr.Gami

Part 44: Fukaya Sangyo in 1980

Here is the catalog of Fukaya Sangyo in 1980.
Fukaya is an official import agent of EDDY MERCKX even now. The company has sold "GHISALLO and DAVOS" as the original brands, too. Especially DAVOS was designed as randonneur model and sportif model which became rare in these days.
The catalog introduced "complete bicycles and frames" as the original brands. Particularly, Italian type road-racing bicycle was designed by refined sense. I myself had considered buying it.

The catalog was offered by Mr. F. K

Two lady's models which were equipped with a rattan basket were printed on the front cover. It might be better to call it "cycle feminine". The bicycle of upper side was the single-speed model and the lower side was a five-speed model.

Here were three kinds of road-racing bicycle. SR-210 was so-called full-Campagnolo model. The chain-wheel seemed to be Super-record. It had sufficient atmosphere of Italian road-racing bicycle because of special frame works and coloring and beautiful curve of front fork.

SR-207 was a Dura-ace model. SR-204 was a Superbe model.

Note: I prepared a large image for this page.

Two models of upper side were aerodynamic model which were assembled with Shimano AX. AERO-220 was equipped with a set of Dura-ace AX and AERO-330 was equipped with a set of 600 AX.

The third model SR-208 was a Sportif model, was equipped with Shimano 600 EX. It had special works such as plinths for Yoshigai centre-pull brake and a buried plinth for dynamo. However, description "sporchief" (in Japanese) was strange.

These were Track-racing model which was equipped with Dura-ace, Road-racing model which was equipped with 600 EX, and standard model of Randonneur.

These were randonneur model and camping model. All of the models were equipped with Suntour VX derailleur, Mafac Criterium cantilever brake, Nitto handlebar and Brooks saddle. The specification was suitable for the models.

These were Mixte model and Mini-velo models. TL-20 was a lady's model and TG-20 was a man's model. All models were refined.

As for SA-805 ADULT which was equipped with opposite levers, the handlebar of promenade type was suitable.

MT-26 was a first generation of MTB. Fukaya was quick to seize a business opportunity because the company already began to sell MTB in 1980.

The several frames were introduced through two pages from here. Some parts of them were used for complete bicycle which I introduced at above, and the others were sold as a single item.

FK-210 was a high grade frame because it was composed of Ishiwata 017, Campagnolo frame end and head set.

FK-207 was a domestic high grade frame. It was composed of Ishiwata 019, Shimano frame end, and Shimano or Superbe head set.

FK-204 was a middle grade frame and FK-305 was a standard frame.

Note: I prepared a large image for this page.

These were track-racing frame, sportif frame, and mixte frame.

This is the color sample.
