This time I would like to introduce the English catalogue of Bridgestone which supposed be issued 1972.

Production volume of Japanese bicycle industry had been increasing during 1970s by wide variety of demand such as mini-bicycle, child bicycle, sport bicycle by population growth and expansion of purchasing power in Japan, and increase of export to USA during the period of Bicycle ecology.

Annual production which had been keeping 3 million growth 5 million in 1971, 7 million in 1972, 9.41 million in 1973 on the peak.
However, the period of rapid growth in Japan ceased by the oil crisis 1973-74 which was caused by Yom Kippur War when OPEC increased the oil price 70 percent. It affected bicycle boom badly, and Japanese bicycle industry entered the era of reform.

This catalogue was issued on the peak of bicycle industry in Japan. The catalogue introduced for USA with a focus on so-called 10 speed bicycle, high Riser for kids. The catalog is composed of the introduction of four factories, explanation of unique technique of Bridgestone such as the die-cast frame, the oval gear, the Otel five freewheel, the Auto drive hub, and the introduction of the models.
