The Catalog of Reminiscence

The Invitation for Cycling by Mr.Gami

Part 115: Bianchi in 1984

This time I would like to introduce the catalogue of Bianchi

Bianchi was established in 1885 at Milano. It is one of the oldest bicycle brands which presence now. It has been producing several kinds of bicycle such as road-racing bicycle, MTB, city-bicycle and E-bicycle.

The band is currently subsidiary of Cycleurope AB. Cycle Europe Japan which is under the control of Cycleurope AB is its distributor in Japan.

Bianchi has been a popular brand as import bicycle in Japan. We frequently see road-bicycle or cross bicycle in the city. However, for me who has been a cyclist from my youth, it is a synonym for roar-racing bicycle which has been winning many big races from long ago.

There were lots of famous athletes who were successful in the world with road-racing bicycle of Bianchi. They were called 'Campionissimo', such as Fausto Coppi who was as popular as Gino Bartali in Italy, Felice Ginondi who had won the World Champion Ship in 1973 with Bianchi frame which was composed with Ishiwata 017 tubes, and Marco Pantani who was at the prime of his success in the second half of 1998.

The catalogue was issued in 1984, the era that the frame of road-racing bicycle was made of steel. I personally love the silhouette of this era for road-racing bicycle. the horizontal frame which was composed of the slim steel tubes and the front folk which draws exquisite curve causes an image of beautifully and braveness to me.

This catalogue was issued on 1984 by Bianchi Japan which was a distributor of Bianchi in Japan. I posted all 24 pages including the front and back covers at belows without my comment. I also prepared E-book. You can turn each page as real catalog, and zoom it. URL is below.
Note: advertisement which doesn't relate to the catalog would appear because I use free service.
